My innovation plan Tech Time: My Time in Kindergarten focuses on helping students become independent when using iPads with QR codes. By applying the 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX), I created a clear goal, measurable steps, a visual scoreboard, and weekly accountability routines to guide this change. Over time, these practices will become daily habits, empowering students and giving teachers smoother small-group learning time. The Influencer Model complements this plan by ensuring that motivation and ability are supported at personal, social, and structural levels. Together, these frameworks make Tech Time a sustainable change in our classroom.

Breaking Down the 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX)

How the 4DX Disciplines Align with the 5 Stages of Change

The astronaut visuals above highlight the 5 Stages of Change. To connect them more clearly with the 4 Disciplines of Execution:

  • Discipline 1 (WIG) comes to life in Stage 1 – Getting Clear, as students and teachers share the same goal.
  • Discipline 2 (Lead Measures) drives Stage 2 – Launch, when routines are practiced and measured step by step.
  • Discipline 3 (Scoreboard) supports Stage 3 – Adoption, making progress visible and motivating.
  • Discipline 4 (Accountability) ensures Stage 4 – Optimization and leads to Stage 5 – Habits, where independence becomes a daily routine.

Together, 4DX and the Influencer Model give both the structure and the motivation needed to make Tech Time: My Time in Kindergarten a sustainable change.
