Influencer Strategy: Tech Time – My Time in Kindergarten

In my journey through EDLD 5304 – Leading Organizational Change, I learned that true transformation is not just about new routines or digital tools it is about influencing behaviors in ways that last. For my innovation plan, Tech Time My Time in Kindergarten, I applied the Influencer Framework to design a strategy that helps young learners become more independent and confident when using technology.

This strategy identifies the results I want to achieve, the vital behaviors that will drive success, and the organizational influencers who will support the change. More importantly, it connects directly to the Six Sources of Influence (personal, social, and structural; motivation and ability), ensuring that independence with technology is reinforced in multiple ways.

Through this work, I discovered how small, visible behaviors such as scanning a QR code or transitioning quickly to a tech center can build student confidence and create smoother, more engaging classroom experiences. As Jeni Cross (2013) explains, change does not happen through common sense alone but through intentional strategies that shape behavior. Similarly, Joseph Grenny (2013) reminds us that those who create real change master the skill of influence.

My influencer strategy demonstrates how these ideas apply in kindergarten: teachers model routines, students celebrate independence, peers support one another, and the environment is structured for success. These actions, supported by administrators, colleagues, and families, create a culture where students view technology as a tool for growth and ownership of learning.

Takeaway: This assignment helped me see myself not only as a teacher but also as a leader of change. By aligning purpose with practical strategies, I am preparing my students to thrive in a digital world starting with independence in the smallest routines.
