Leadership in Action: Role Simulation Reflection

As part of our EDLD 5303 coursework, we engaged in a collaborative leadership simulation project where each team member took on a different leadership perspective. I chose to approach the task from a Transformational Leadership lens focusing on motivation, shared vision, and the empowerment of others to contribute meaningfully.

At first, it was challenging. Each of us had a different idea of how to structure the project and how to move forward. But over time, we found common ground by listening to one another, respecting each other’s time, and working together to unify our efforts. Technology played an essential role in helping us stay connected, communicate asynchronously, and bring our ideas to life.

From a transformational perspective, I learned how important it is to lead with purpose and to inspire not just organize. I saw how building trust, encouraging creativity, and giving space for others to lead could elevate the entire group. More than just an academic task, this project showed us how leadership when rooted in empathy and vision can truly bring people together.

“Transformational leadership is about inspiring others to achieve more than they thought possible.”
